Apple continuously improves their user experience as iOS evolves (the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch operation system), but I always seem to stumble upon features that I wish were available. The App Store allows third-party developers to create and sell various apps and utilities, but some features just need to be built into iOS. One such feature is a real-time voicemail usage indicator.
It’s been two years since I originally posted this request. And it’s still relevant.
I get quite a few phone calls and voicemails, and I tend to keep voicemails on my phone for future reference of jobs, leads, important message, etc.
But by the end of the day, if I’ve been busy and haven’t had a chance to clean out my mailbox, I’ll get the “Warning: Voicemail 100% Full” notification after someone has left me a voice message.
The problem with this is that your iPhone doesn’t always notify you as soon as it’s mailbox is 100% full, causing you (and me) to potentially miss an important call, lead, customer or even sale!
Apple already incorporates a battery usage indicator in the top right corner of the iOS window. I don’t think it would be that difficult to add a small voicemail usage indicator in the Phone app as well.
As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts below. And feel free to leave your most needed iOS feature request in the comment section. I’ll take the best one (or few) and look into them a little further.
